I’ve already deleted the app from my phone but I think I’m going to delete my entire account, honestly. I don’t support the changes made to tumblr, like everyone else, but also the arbitrary disdain for female nipples is so archaic and simple-minded - I definitely don’t want to be apart of that boring shit. It’s been fun, though, up until this point!

Tumblr banning “female presenting nipples” is so blatantly sexist and objectifying that I can’t totally wrap my head around it yet. Have never posted any form of nudity on my blog, and never plan to, but when there are obvious advantages doled out on one gender over another based on antiquated & puritanical notions of sexuality, yeah, it’s really disappointing. This policy sends a clear message to many content creators that we are not welcome. Plenty of lovely photography blogs I follow that have posted tasteful nude paintings & pics before, whether it’s of themselves or of professionally posed models. Good art is not obedient art. Good self-expression is not obedient self-expression. I imagine a lot of wonderful content creators & regular users are going to start disappearing because of this.

It’s been a backwards day for me already, but reading this when I came home takes the cake.
